Safeguarding: Child Protection and Vulnerable Adults
Kanzen Karate England fully recognises the benefits of regular exercise, especially engagement in physical and sporting activities. To this end, we have put the participation in Karate at the forefront of objectives, these being the provision of physical activities and promotion of health, education, and overall wellbeing.

While a substantial proportion of our membership being children and young people, there are many older members, some of whom may be deemed to be vulnerable adults. We therefore fully appreciate that it is incumbent on us that our duty of care incorporates the provision of robust preventive measures in order to Safeguard them all irrespective of gender, race, religion, sexuality, or disability, during their Karate participation.

Whether for the protection of children or vulnerable adults, the intention of the implemented safeguarding policies and practices is to significantly mitigate against and in so doing reduce the risk of potential harm from physical, sexual, or emotional abuse and bullying, while taking part in any Kanzen Karate training, competing or other activities.

To aid in achieving these objectives, all Kanzen Karate England staff, coaches, or volunteers, who regularly have a leading role in the care of children or vulnerable adults, undergo recognised Safeguarding and Child Protection training, are all First Aid trained and hold Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates.

To further support our Safeguarding measures, Kanzen Karate England has adopted the following documents that all of our staff, coaches, and volunteers, have read and are familiar with. These documents are available for viewing upon request and for inspection by any relevant agency or body.
